Can anyone recommend a decent mobile broadband provider. Would prefer unlimited data if possible.
Also where to go to buy a decent television.
We arrive tomorrow 16/04 living full time in La Mata but can go to any good tv shop as we have our car with us

As a full time resident in spain are you required to pay tax on a UK pension in Spain or can you remain paying it in the UK. Do any of you currently residing in Spain have a definitive answer please.
Just to add to my previous post - if you talk to HMRC at Newcastle (details from their website) you can complete forms that will get your income given a coding of NT (No Tax deducted), so save the problem of reclaiming each year. It's not a quick process but relatively easy to do and worth it in the long run.

La Mata??
Please excuse my ignorance but I am trying to sort out the geography of this site. Is La Marina and La Mata the same place or is there some other reason that despite the site being to do with La Mata, I cannot find any posts to do with the town or village or whatever it is. Now La Marina is another kettle of fish completely, every day I get notifications as to new posts coming on line and every day La Marina is well spoken of along with I think many bars and restaurants and other venues/businesses but I don't see La Mata specifically mentioned. Can someone please shed some light as to what the go is with this as we are soon to live in La Mata and I dont really know what may well be relevent to us or not. Hope someone can shed some light on the geography please
La Mata is not La Marina and must be about 10 miles away.
The reason that you are reading things on the La Mata forum that relate to other areas is because the people of La Mata do not add much to the site so you have what we call the MASTER FORUM which shows you all the comments from every area. Maybe when you move in then things will change and we can give you your own area forum.

long term rental required Cabo Cervera area
G'day all,
We would like to obtain a rental from the 16th April 2013 for approx 5 months whilst our home is being built.
You guys probably know the areas better than we do but we would like to live as close to the Masa International hotel as possible. Not necessarily on the sea front etc.
We would like a storage area or unfurnished as we are bringing some stuff from the UK. We do have two little King Charles Spaniels which we appreciate may be an issue for some owners but they are very good and we of course would pay a bond to cover them. So a house rather than an apartment would be best.

That's easy to answer. If you live in Spain for more than 183 days per year, you are deemed to be domiciled and tax resident in Spain. That therefore means that ALL your worldwide income must be declared for tax. A big however - if you pay tax on any income outside of Spain and that country has a Double Taxation Relief agreement (DTR), then your Spanish tax liability will be reduced by the amount of tax paid elsewhere. The UK does have a DTR agreement with Spain. I understand that Civil Service pensions from the UK are taxed in the UK and paid net of tax. So, although you would have to declare the total income from those payments, you would not be taxed again by the Spanish Tax authorities on those amounts.
It's not an either here or there decision. You are liable to pay tax in Spain.
